Looking at getting an FJ70

Post by terrano »

Hi all im looking at getting a 1987 FJ70 converted to 1hz. All road legal Wof reg ect, snorkel and running near new 35" muddies.
Body wise there is a bit of rust on the passenger door, bottom of the sill on drivers side and bottom of rear gaurds, mainly all surface but will need attention soon.
What money should i be paying for this?
Are there any issues with them?
Any other advice on these would be great.

Cheers

give it a really good looking over for rust those things are all getting pretty old now and rust repairs can start sucking up a lot of money and all you do is slow the rust infestation down by doing repairs it always keeps coming back :D , have a good look around the windscreen frame, the A pillars rust around the seam by the top hinges, the floor at the bottom of the A pillars is usually getting pretty thin, roof gutters rot out, bottom of doors, leading edge of bonnet, rear quarter panels etc

Off road ability with the 35s i assume it should be pritty good, doesnt have a lift kit that i can see and doesnt have any rub from the tyres.
