Hi there,

Manual hub on surf won't disengage. Isn't my vehicle, but I'm trying to replace it for a mate, i have a replacement hub. But I am having trouble removing the old one.

Does anyone have a clue on how to remove the allen key hex bolts that are on AVM manual hubs? once they are fully siezed in, is drilling the only way?

Tried mpact driver and all and they will not move. need to remove and replace hub, hub is stuck between 4wd and2wd

started trying to drill hub out. But no luck.

Any ideas? Cheers

Dont drill the heads out!!
The shafts are tappered and taking the heads off will not help!!
Cut a allen key so you can fit a spanner over it and tap with a hammer at the same time.
Worse than pulling teeth but the only way that i found that worked

As above. They are horrible little fasteners. I also used a sacrificial torx bit to get them off my Isuzu. Once I got em off and dismantled I remember being very unimpressed with how lightly they are made...
