Cruiser / Surf Brake master

Post by Dr46on »

Does anyone know if the brake master cylinder to suit a Toyota V6 Surf is the same as the 80 series master, or if it would do the job on my 40 when I put disks all round? I have read here that the 80 master is the way to go, but the surf looks very similar. Any clues? cheers

no idea if they are the same but i have the 80 series master and booster on my 40, bit of a job getting it to fit as its miles bigger than the standard one...and i have the very early model which diddnt even have a booster so there wasnt even anywhere to put it to start with  but its in and its awesum  if you have the later model (74 ? onwards ) which has the booster it will make your job much easier. doing disks all round ? should be sweet as the 80 is 4 wheel disks. so to answer your question..... dont know if they are the same :? but i would go for the 80 series set up anyway as its made for a heavier vehicle so gotta be better

Cheers for that. Mine is a 1982, so it has the booster. I have the stuff for the rear, but I'm still looking for the front end. I need a 60 series front end.. If anyone has one they want to part with?

Cheers. Makes for an interesting read. Let me know how you get on fitting it all. Sounds more complicated than using the 60 series, mixing 'lux seals with 'cruiser wipers etc. Did you get the vented disks?

I think the cruiser cylinder is slightly larger than the surf one, surf is 3/4 I think and cruiser 1in.

Matt.
