70 Series Axel

Post by 4X4BEAST »

Has anyone out there got a Toyota 70 Series rear axel that needs a new home. I need the drivers side (short) axel. I'm in the South Island so would prefer to sauce from the same Island. Reply direct if you like to brkyles@es.co.nz
Thanks Guys.

hey there,
measure your one up, i think the short side is the same as on 40 and 60 series. dont quote me though, just something i noticed when i was playing axles a couple of years ago.
in any case i have a short side from a 60 seies that might fit, wil measure it tomorrow and let you know what i find out

Thanks for that Glen, I have been into the local Toyota agent and got a list of all the possable doners, Didn't know there was so many landcruiser models. The 40 series was not on the list but just about every other one was... Not the 80, 90, or 100 though. Measure the diamator as well, I will pull mine out tomorrow and measure the bits up if I can easely get the broken bit out of the diff head. How much do you want for the axel if it is suitable?? :?:

sweet,
i'll get mine for a measure up today too,
i have seen 70 series with both semi and full floating axles, so i hope yours is a semi floater cause thats what i have from this 60 series.
either way i'm looking at about 200$ give or take postage.
murphys law says that i will break my 70 series one now and need it just after i send my spare away, but what can you do?
catch up with you this evening.

Sorry but you have the wrong axel. The one that I need is for a full floating diff. Over all measures 620mm and the rest of the measurements are the same as yours..
Thanks anway..
Regards,
Brian.
