hello

Post by mfrsr »

g'day

I'm new to here, been on other forums a lot. I'm looking around for some advice on a few mods to my rough truck, the remains of a SJ410.

Without going into detail i'm trying to make my own coil spring front end for it, and i'm looking for a few pointers on suspension tech.

I'm a mechanic, orginally from Taupo, now in Hastings.

I've also got my apprenticeship project, which is sort of finished - a LJ71 'cruiser with a 1-UZ instead of the 2L-T hand grenade. Pretty much stock otherwise, bar a set of 32's

Cheers

Mac

Look for De-ranged, also in hastings. Drinks Bourbon, beer other liquids. very clever engineer and experienced 4wd-er and 4wd builder.

Hi there, welcome, Great to have another HB member
What sort of driving do you like ?
Where do you normally go ?

What are you doing Queens B/day weekend ?? http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7681
It would be great to have a group of us from HB
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

I lived here for a few years while i was at school then moved back to Taupo to do my apprenticeship. Bought a jackaroo and joined the Taupo 4wd club, then sold that and bought my 'cruiser, and a Safari as well.

I moved back here last year and since then havent actually done much 4wding at all, i figured i'd get my conversion finished before i joined a club.

So yeah, mostly on the farm, just doing various jobs. And pureora when i was in Taupo. As far as i know, there's no such thing as a shiny trip around Taupo :D , and i'm realistic about damage. Ideally i want my trucks to be able to be driven home at the end of the day, and still get a wof.

Rallywoods sound good. will have to see how my finances look closer to the time. It would be good to see new bits of the country, but i really do need to get my LINK tuned before i take it in the mud.
