Motatapu Race

Gidday just curious if ayone else is doin the motatapu mountain bike/run this weekend, from glendu bay through to arrowtown. Im biking it for the first time should be interesting hope i finish

Weather was great down that way ,
wasn't there for the mountain bike run,
Gave the truck a run to a family wedding,
1,359 kms in 3 days,
think I will try and wangle more time of next time so
I can have longer stops........

How did you get on Ryan?

3 guys from my work did it in the sport class, 2.55 hrs to 3.23 hrs
Evidently it is NZs largest race with over 2000 entries

I had intended to drive this years ago in a vintage car, most of the others went thru however I seized a gearbox at over 2000m alt. on another nearby track (Mount Pisa) so repaired that instead.

yea well i finished it lol took me 5hr 4min 38sec. im happy enough with that concidering i only done 6 weeks training that consisted of 2-3 rides a week. but it was great fun im entering the Gowan Hill classic on the 29th of this month, 30km and its got acouple bloody big climbs i done it last year and it nearly killled me but atleast this time i have been doing abit more riding
