Chev 350 problems

Post by jumper »

My chev 350 has some issues
Out of the left pipe, lots of smoke a bit of blue, a bit of greyish could be white, a bit of black, all mixed up. At idle and when reved.
Out of the right pipe, blueish smoke only visible using a torch at the pipe at idle, easily visible when reved.
Oil ok, coolant ok.
Compression test

Any ideas :?:

I am no expert but having recently fixed a problem that a compression test revealed I'd say your motor is about worn out!

Mine was reading 175 - 185 cold with one reading 100 which was the problem. It was low enough to not be firing when at idle but would fire above about 1200rpm.

Yours is consistantly low so a new set of rings - I believe 350's are pretty cheap to rebuild.

It dosent sound like your burning too much oil if theres not too much blue smoke? Shit that truck still flys like the wind so maybe just keep driveing it till it does start to burn oil?
