Re: Diff question
Turn the adjusters to release the pressure between the shoes and the drum
If the adjusters go tight your turning them the wrong way

Re: Diff question
Jase, try backing off the adjuster screw first. Sometimes if the linings in the drum are worn, the shoes sit in a grove and prevent the drum from being removed. Be very careful with the jacking bolts. Hilux drums have only a couple of mm material thickness which the thread is tapped into. The thread is a M8x 1.25 so that means there is only two or at the most 3 threads to apply pressure from the jack bolts. The threads strip very easily (this I know from experience).
Good luck
Jase.

Re: Diff question
I had one that was so ####### stuck, completely unadjusted, spigot cleaned up, it still stripped both jacking threads, wouldnt budge with a hammer. ended up welding a couple of bigger bolts onto it and using a puller pushing on the center spigopt to get it off. sometimes they're just an asshole.

Re: Diff question
lol well it's alldone now.
I used two jacking bolt's and instead of threading them in, i got some plyers and a thin peice of wood and used the plyers as a lever on one of the studs. it worked a treat haha.
it was allsweet after that..

thats sorta what i did with my old surf, my hand brake was always pretty average, did a lsd swap, but a total drum to drum swap, not just diff head, and hey presto, fixed my handbreak problem...
