Wtd: Alternator for a Chev 283 V8

Every time I speak to the auto elec mine gets more and more expensive to fix.
Anyone have one that will fit my engine at a reasonable price

Sigs got a nice looking rebuilt 350 in his garage......Saddam doesn't want it anymore I think there is a starter thingy on there.....

i gave up on chev alternaters years ago .i run jap inbuilt reg ones .cheap as chips ,easy to fit (if you have acc holes in your heads )and normally heaps smaller in size but bigger in amps output.if you have no acc holes i have mounted off waterpump before as well.hope this helps. sorry jerry sadams motor will get there but work is so busy i haven,t been in the garage for over a month

Thanks for this any suggestions on japper alternator? A few listed on TradeMe which are priced well. I will take a look at mounting options this avo.
