Most likely planned it that way so there is no excuse to either participate or watch as all handbrakes are surly inoperable that day

I might call in to watch.
Drove past it in the shopping trolley last year and still kick myself for not stopping.

I'll be there. Not sure if I should get a new co-driver or not.
I'm looking forward to it. This time I'll be more prepared. A roll over ain't going to slow me down like last time.
Hopefully Dave at Falsgrave Auto will be more user friendly with the course and rules this time. We all know how it was last year...

toymota thats stock standard.
Re: Sheffield Mud Plug
Same as last time Mike? Well. You did do bloody well last year. Personally I enjoyed it. But I did find it hard getting round some of the tight turns. The class i was in allowed fiddle brakes. That would of helped. But it was still to tight for me. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks that?
This year i think I should stick a bloody big yellow square on the front n back of my truck with a large black "L" in the middle of it.

People might say that now. But they weren't right after the last Sheffield event. Straight up! (check out the history of the last Sheffield Mud plug on here) It was built for trucks with fiddle brakes. Lets see how a long wheel base Nissan Safari gets round. It was a joke.

Yep. Anyone would have the same thought as you chopper. As much as rolling my cruiser was my own fault, not the course (even though they did close that challenge down soon after others rolled). I still say the track was to tight. So did others!
I wasn't the only one who struggled last year. It was my first event. Won't be my last. I'm just telling it how it was. Hey, if it's tighter this year, I'll still compete. But it just doesn't make it as fun as it could be. Rick at 4WD Accessories had the same opinion. Ask him!! He's done plenty of off roading events!

Last year was very dry leading up to the event so to make it more challanging (as the grip level was exspected to be quite high)they made the course tighter as it turned out it rained on the day which made it very slipperly on top with such a hard base, until it was churned up abit.second round was much more fun

Its a fun 4wd event to help raise funds for Sheffield fire brigade, the course is set out by trails guys so it does tend to suit smaller SWB vehicles, its hard to please everyone,if the course wasent so tight but still challanging would bring out more Tuff Trucks IMO.
I wont be entering this year my vehicle is just wrong in so many ways for is type of event.
Its a Great event though and I well be surporting as normal,by watching the mud fly

Re: Sheffield Mud Plug
Come on Pete they won't change the course just to try and make you look as good as your truck
As for last year the biggest hassle was the rain. The ground became wickedly slippery which caused alot of hassles. And it wasn't much fun to stand in either

Even if they did make it easier this year.
It'll take years of off road experience for me to be any good at these kind of events. I guess I must be nuts to enter. But it's for a good cause. And I had fun last year. Not only rolling but ripping off a Patrols front bumper was a highlight.

If I roll the cruiser again this year? I won't have a roof to damage this time.

Re: Sheffield Mud Plug
Now thats the attitude
Its not about winning its about being able to use the other gearstick for a change
