Sorry, can't really help with the tank section other than suggest maybe a marine shop, the fabricate boat fuel tanks?

What I'm interested in is the carbon clean. How? was it simply an additive or a complete take apart & scrape out? Petrol or diesel?

Hi munster, see you live in Puke as well.Hope you`re going to support the Steelers this Sunday?Righto, carbon clean. It`s a to your door setup. The guy unhooks your fuel lines, plugs them into a USA made machine then runs your motor thru the bye- pass (motovac machine).Uses a detergent based product. You can see the filth accumulate in the resivour.Runs the truck for about 20-30 mins. Then lets the detergent do its stuff for another 45-1hr.The gives it another flush.Hooks the fuel lines backup.Thats it.Will keep working for upto 45 days. Then should be repeated every 25000 miles.Cost $200.Mines a diesel patrol.Brilliant result.Guy says the most improvement will be noticed on the 1st treatmeant. My truck is getting a WoF at the mo.I can PM you the reps details later on if you wish.I was going to get a new set of injectors. That can wait for now.

fuel

I have a petrol Prado, so probably not required.

I know the ol' 2 stroke outboard gets a huge amount of carbon build up, but everynow & then I run Yamaha Ring Free through it and you can see the lumps of carbon in the water as it clears the system.

If you have no luck with long range tanks, try an alloy boat builder. They custom make underfloor tanks to fit boat hulls, so should'nt be too hard to make another tank for the Patrol.

There are tons in Aussie - check in one of the Aussie patrol forums and you may be able to get a secondhand one cheap.

just a thought but have you looked at a fuel cell, the type used by race cars which are available from Sedigins or most preformance outlets. Can be easily pumbed into your system to "piggy back" with existing fuel tank.
cheers DJ
