Do you think this would be LEGAL?

Post by Damz »

Need some advice, I just bought a nissan/datsun navara, which has a small rear diff (c200), I want to upgrade the diff to a much bigger/better/more upgradable/LSD terrano diff (h233b).

I can get the entire h233b axle with LSD diff, discs and all for $300.

Problem is, Terranos are coil sprung, Navaras have leaf springs..

Now this guy has done what I want to do, could you please have a look and tell me if you think its worthwhile, and what would need to be done to keep it road legal?

Thanks!

You will need to get it certified, talk to your local certifier and get his opinion on it  The brakes can be certified but i'm not sure the way he's done it is a very efficent way of doing it, you will also need a normal handbrake. The coil mounts are easy enough to cut off and make some spring perches for the leaf's where abouts are you from? I'm sure a local member could help you out :D

why not just get the h233b off a navara, the brakes etc should all be a closer match and will have leaf spring mounts.
