My main requirements was firstly a daily driver, secondly a camper, and lastly a 4wd I could use on club etc runs. Since I cart a kayak around on top and have to get on and off barges whenever I go to the mainland I settled on a minimal 2" lift. Just over half way through the changes and for somebody with zilch mechanical experience am finding it an eye opener. Have learnt the hard way that if something expected to take 2 hours - allow myself a whole day. Am enjoying it though.
So far I have crossed of the list:
Paint wheel rims
Paint tow bar / tyre carrier
Interior LED's
Repad seat
Awning
Paddle box
Headliner replacement
Fishing rod storage
2” lift (cheated here and got a mechanic to do it)
Clinometer (maybe useless but it looks cool)
New shocks
Water container bracket
Rock Sliders
Polyair bags
Tow hooks & brackets (tomorrows job)
Still have to:
Replace oxy sensor
Respray paint job
Snorkel
Bull Bar
Radio / PC
Bonnet vents
31" M/T tyres
It may not be a hard grade 4wd but after a shake down camping trip a few weeks ago I'm very happy with how its coming together.
I want to thank everybody on the forum for sharing their knowledge.
