Landcruiser Leaf Springs and Exteneded Shackles?

Howzit,
Ive been told that adding extended shackles to factory standard Landcruiser leaf springs is bad for them and may cause the leafs to snap or something to that extent? Whats the real story on the matter anyone???

can cause shackle inversion if you dont set it up propperly but thats about it, adding longer shackles doesnt really give you any advantages tho mate unless you add longer leafs so the shackle throws back a long way thus giving you extra droop potential
