To cut a long story short, I'm looking after a car for a mate who is overseas.

Yeah, it's not a 4wd, but autos are autos, aren't they?
Anyway, When getting it out of the shed yesterday, it lost drive. It was in gear, and then just stopped. I put it into reverse, and still nothing then back into drive. It began moving forward again a little bit later. Initially I thought that it might have been the linkage, but all seems to be secure. It happened a couple of times while I was driving around, and each time it would come right again 30-odd seconds later - sometimes I would move the shifter, sometimes I would do nothing and it would come right again.
The oil level is fine, and I can't think of anything else that would cause this. When it is driving, there is no slip and it will quite happily light the tyres up!
Has anyone else come across this sort of problem before or have any suggestions?
Cheers.

Re: Auto Trans Question
try changing the trani oil. have had a few honda's do crazy stuff like not engage then all of a sudden engage and there goes some tread. after changing trani oil no more problems. some auto trani's are tepermental on the oil. might try changing it might help.
