i had flip arm set up and then bought jafas high steer arms as they are WAY better and the 400 is well spent.with all the pissing round to get the flip arm set up working properly and strong enough to take the abuse you might as well just spend the coin to start with and they just bolt on. so simple and so strong its worth it.

then i will gusset this to make it stronger then just get longer bolts i dont see a problem with this but as you have gone down this path before what sort of effects does it make to the steering, il be using a ifs power steering kit.

cheers

EEERRRR Steering components that are known to be reasonably highly stressed and then you weld them?
I think not, plus of course for a certed vehicle welded steering components are a no no. Not that I always agree with that but I do in this instance. If you look at the sample in the piccy the right hand end of the weld in-between the two arms has undercut. NICE!! Not only does the steel have a heat affected zone from the welding but it has a undercut stress-raiser as well.

Go buy WOPASSes ones, Its you life AND others you are playing with.

yea no welding on steering components !! big no no.

just flip it,double cone washer set and bolt them on easy as. or you could just buy some high steer arms and bolt them on with your existing studs and cones and nuts. they are better. but if you want the flip arm set up i can dig around and sell you mine, you will have to get studs tho as im pretty sure i biffed mine out when i bought the high steer arms

thanks for all the info i am not a gd welder anyways so i wont be welding an arm up. think i might have to fork out for the arms although i do not intend to get this truck anywhere near road legal but its nice to have that piece of mind that it will be strong enough and not break.

thanks again

to get welded arms certed you need to aplly for a exemption before you do it stateing why there is no alternative and then the method your going to use to weld them
its quite a complicated procedure ,,, but there is a reason for it
