well i rebuild my suzuki carb and fitted it exactly the way it came off and started the motor and looked into the carb and petrol was coming out of almost every hole in the carb i could see just kept flooding it. could anyone help me out with this? i have looked in the haynes manual but no joy.

The float valve is not working. It should shut the fuel off once it reaches a certain level.
The float is the black plastic thing that hangs down when you take the top of the carb off. At the end which is fixed to the top of the carb here will be a little valve that moves as the float moves. Check that is in place and is sealing correctly. It is easy for the float to fall off when you have the carb apart on a G13 engine. The pin that the float pivots on is only held in place by the sides of the float bowl. Undo the four screws that hold the top of trhe carb on and see if the float is in place and working correctly.

well fixed the float and works ok now the problem i have now is it is smokeing like a gooden. i presume it is running rich? i have turned the idle speed up and down but nothing changes and i think i found the mixture screw but it doesnt seem to do much. hope someone can help.

depending on condition the carb, the idle mix screw may need more turns than a new or good condition carb, make sure the choke is not on
