Hi there i have one of theses for a work car. Jerry is wright watch out for the rust under the rear seats on the floor pan. Wof guys are checking them on sticker time.Had no problem with auto and had it in deep mud with work and havn't been stuck yet...
So hope this helps had car for 3 years now and only thing that had to be done was the front brakes.....abbo
Don't have 4wd.
Re: Mistral any good???
I like them, good strong TD27t engine, solid coiled rear end, a good wheel base and width.
The main thing i like is that when you walk round the truck you see those massive front and rear bumpers........
I have yet to see it done, but imagine stripping them off, the approach and departure angles would be pretty sweet for not much wok, and a simple tube bumper could easily replace them. Would be much like a Suzuki Vitara with the bumpers removed.

Wifes got one, real good on fuel, some shit blind spots with the A pillar though.
rain, hail, sleet or snow, we go!
Re: Mistral any good???
Mistrals/Terrano/Terrano 11 i would put an aftermarket auto cooler on it as they tend to run real hot in the tranny when you start to work them real hard and as above rust under the rear seat on the floor seam watch out for the rust bubbles.
Terrano TD 2.7 and a ssangyong Rexton
Re: Mistral any good???
I've got a 94 model.Bought it with 75000 ks on the clock & has now done over 475000 ks with out any problems.I use it off road quite a bit.The rear axle articulation is very good.I agree about the bummpers & trans cooler. It can run hot in the sand & under load.
