Mig Welder - Wanted

Post by Loonez »

Heya Guy's,

I've been thinking & its time i sorted out my tools, seen as all i have is a very basic set now, i did have all the tool's i needed but wrong decision's made me end up with no tools

ok I'm after a mig welder around the 180amp mark, i dont really want to go any lower in amp's,
i would go & buy a new one but i dont have that sort of cash, so it's down to getting a used one.

i've seen a few on trademe that are in my price range just wrong timing, i'll have $600 to spend, but not untill another 5 weeks time will i have the full 600 cash on me so thats were the tricky bit is, but i dont mind waiting & it gives me the time to suss one out,

the main reason i'm after one @ 180amps is it will cover all the welding i'll have to do for chassis work n so forth & i also want to be able to use it for tacking up ali, i've got a few idea's about stuff i want to make out of ali for the landy

any help is always much appreciated

Re: Mig Welder - Wanted - Mine's cheap, but...

Hi,
i've got a Transpak 180 sitting outside my garage (under cover), but:
1) it's 3 phase, and
2) it's in Kapiti - wrong end of the island.
a mate brought it round (3 years ago) to test it as he doesn't have 3 phase. It goes, and throws an OK weld too, but could use some TLC to the gun (got a new tip and shroud, but it's all a bit tacky, handle held together with tape etc. I think it's a Tweco 2). This is an old bit of kit. also doesn't have a regulator or bottle - does have about 1/2 reel of .9mm er70 steel in it.

I want it gone because I need the space (and I've just got my 350A antique going yay!) - he was OK with "whoever offers the most slabs of tui" as a basis for negotiation (he lives in a housebus so always uses my welder anyway).

so, if you can get it to whangarei it could be a good deal, otherwise I guess we're open to offers. Otherwise it's tardme and I can't really be rrrsed.

Heya Terry,

thanks for the offer but ill have to pass on it because i dont have access to 3 phase, thats the main reason i'm after one thats single phase, offer it up on here u might get some taker's.

Cheers
