VW diesel Conversion
i have been doing some looking on the net and you can buy kits to put a VW diesels in samurai and vitara/escudo/geo tracker, the sites are quite vague on what model engine to put in, i was wondering has anyone put one in their suzuki and how did it go?

Re: VW diesel Conversion
All the kits out of the states were for the vw golf diesel , same engine block ran from about 1.6 to 1.9 turbo . Not very comon here so would not be a good option as you will find it hard to get parts .
What platform did you have in mind 413 or vitara
413 would be easier as its got a split t/case . I had a 413 with a toyota turbo diesel , 2ct model , 2.0l out of a lite ace van and the like . I did not install it , brought it like that . This would be a much beter option than the vw as you can get parts for them here .
If you are looking at a vitara its a bit harder as you would need to adapt something to the gearbox or get a diesel with a 4wd box on it . Heaps of options then . Have to say is it really worth it thou ?
had three suzuki diesel now and the one I have now is great , 2002 gv with the peogot engine

Good stuff. Make sure you check out the thread 'Weemsy's Escudo Build' in the Suzuki section if you haven't already. There's a heap of great stuff in there.
