theiving bastards

Post by albundy »

Well guys had the truck broken into last night, in my yard behind my fence. Took hilift from rear mounting points, used bolt cutter to cut lock. I have a foot long set of cutters and I couldn't even scratch the lock so theirs were a ####### good set. They broke inside and took the fire extingusher, stereo, staun tyre deflators, maps, tyre guage, pens and pencils????, attempted to play with fusebox, don't know why, and attempted to remove radio/gps but may have been disturbed as they are now locked inside the house. Think they may have been looking for a key to the dirty big steering lock. To get the hilift off there is a knack or you will damage it and the truck, no damage to the truck, so they knew how to get it off. They even tried to get my recovery gear out of its boxes in the back. Seems they may have been knowing what they want, why would you take staun tyre deflators if you didn't know what they were for. Reported to the cops and they threw a form for me to fill out, gave me a number and told me to go home. I said the truck is dirty, there are visible fingerprints on it where the jack went from but aren't interested. Wouldn't this assist in catching the bastards??? Told the cop that seen they can't do their jobs, don't come looking for me when I or if I find the culprits. #### the cops I say, useless bastards. Defend your own property guys and watch out, seen 4wd's are now seemingly being targeted.
one pissed of member, more so at the useless keystone ####### cops rather then the crims, Al
if any cops on this forum read this and get offended, stickit, do your bloody jobs and gather evidence.

That sucks arse big time!! might be time to get a kick arse alarm for it Al and A kick arse dobiman for the section. Congrats on the new born m8. post up a photo of your hi-lift if you have one and hopefully someone might spot it around. I for one notice them on every truck.

had an interesting encounter with two boy racers racing in wellington and i had to get off the road real quick, then they went sideways round the corner ahead of me squealing tires and all in front of a cop waiting at the traffic lights. I thought to myself cool this is going to be fun the chase is on. guess what happened. the cop waited for the lights to turn and carried merily on his way  FFS such a crock of bullshit

Both of those stories just show the state our police system is in - sorry to hear about the break in Al i know what it feels like having that done. But really the co[ps that told you to go home should get a kick in the arse that really pisses me off when there was visible evidence for them to collect. they should concentrate on solving these crimes and attending to situations they are required at as oppossed to their current revenue collection. Focus on what the people bloody want and need.

I agree with you fully Al you should be able to defend your own property and personally i hope you catch the C%*ts and some of the local boys from ORE can you help you administer some justice i know id back you up if i was in chch and you found them.

I think a letter to the editor would be a good thing. Only so much of this crap can be tolerated by the police!

Also this raises the need for alarms of soughts. I would be very interested in getting one and I imagine so would many others on here to deter this crap happening to us. I wonder if we could get a group discount going on? I would really hate for this shit to happen to anyone else. Its really a pity Al didnt catch the buggers in the act as I'm sure he wouldnt have minded showing them his winch handle several times over

people who steal shit have no respect and deserve to be shot if caught in the act...in the legs or something...not to kill of course...

hope you find the culprit man, must have been casing your truck to go pinching all your recovery gear etc.

i pity anyone who trys to steal anyhting from my truck...what they will end up with is missing limbs...

look close under the missile and you will see a 55kg Rhodesian Ridgeback waiting for lunch

I think you need to keep your truck in the shed and alarm that Al.

If they are good theive's, and not tryin to pinch the truck it's self just the stuff in it, even an alarm isn't going to stop them.

Harsh Mike. But true :flakwhore:

Just had a thought. Maybe we should be covering up our number plates? Just this morning I had to find the owner of a car I sold 10mths ago, having problems with unpaid parking tickets  but anyway, $2.30 and I knew where this vehicle is living.
The thing is, I had to show photo ID. Maybe you could check that?

sounds like its time for operation sit in.. to be carried out be ORE special forces agents, Objection : catch the ####### bastards !!

Procedure: Get 5 agents to sit and wait in a van with baseball bat's etc.. outside a targeted truck, at night waiting for the bastards to come back!

Bastards come agents jump out walk over, chat to the bastards and kindly offer them a drive to the beach where they can wake up to a lovely sun rise.

it has been done before, i read about in a bike mag back home .. and word soon spread not to go near that bike shop again lol

I know this sounds stupid but if you live in suburba leave your wagon parked out in full view
One of my old flats, we'd get the cars busted into at least once every 3 months when they were parked in the garage... they'd take there time about it too, one of the cars had the whole dash removed so they could get the sterio!!!
And it all stopped once we started parking out in full view

My answer 2 free running german sheperds  that and I live next to a kennels and the dogs there are better than any allarm

As for the cops... they have to many things to deal with as it is.... its not good but they'll be looking at it along the lines of, "no one was hurt or theatened... you'll have insurance.... how many hours are they going to spend for what chance of catching the bastard(s)..."

Anything distinctive about what was stolen, something we could keep an eye out for  Got told once by a cop, after a prowler visted that so long as I didn't kripple the bastard, and I called them, they'd ignore it.... leaves plenty of scope to teach the finer pionts of morals and property ownership

Yep, have a small section so limited to what I can do. Spent about an hour in the yard this afternoon and have decided to rip up the lawn and pave it so I can park the bloody thing under my window, build a six foot high fence, the type that pisses your neighbours off as it looks like it should be on an american compound in Iraq. Going to invest in a younger dog, my old boy just doesn't have it anymore. This dog will have his own personal Tajmahal in the front yard/carpark right next to my truck, #### might just let him be done with it and sleep in it. And believe me if I find out who it is , I will beat them to an inch of their lives, done it before, will do it again.

The cops don't have A CLUE!
Have a friend of one of my staff who had a GTR Skyline (yeah I know) that they had poked all their adolesent debt into and the thing was stolen with them watching!!! $60000 of specialised parts are easy to find but once again no one is interested! But have an exhaust that one of them thinks is too loud and not only do they give you a fine but they take demerits away
Any way my offer to any ORE members, tell me what type of alarm you want ( uniden and mongoose) and I will do the best dam price I can and frieght it anywhere.
brmgr117@repco.co.nz will get you to me at work as I am not allowed to surf the net from my desk.
Not trying to profit from Al, but tryin to help.

Sorry to hear about your truck Al... might have to get around to installing my alarm today... its been sitting here waiting since before I even bought the truck so I guess I should.

On the cop note, the one who pulled me over the other day told me he was sick of police work and had moved to Rangiora just so he could do traffic. Cruisy job and he reckoned he could pull his months quota in a day busting people driving through roundabouts without indicating so why work hard?

Our police system is in a bad state, and our current police are looking for the lazy revenue gathering way out... Well, I'm sure not all of them, but thats just bullshit... whats our country coming to?

My 2c

PS: Al, find the bastards... and let me nkow when you do... I'll come with you when you visit them

I would be screaming my arse off at the media, politians and anyone else who would listen. Thing is you may make a few enemies in blue though if they get too much shit. If there are finger printsthis may be some one they know. We had a scum bag break into the wifes car (in garage at the time) and he left a woodies can outside. Cops said they would fingerprint it and dna the top of it but it would be a waste of time. Bugger me if 4 months later they rang to say they had a match and he had been arrested, dont know who was more surprised, us them or the scum bag.

Keep ya chin up mate, these arsehole get theirs eventually(even the criminals some times).

Pajfan: I personally try to steer clear of my local repco as they don't know anything about everything, no offence. Talk with your boss about supplying this forum with a good price/deal as I am sure he will get plenty of buyers. I have done some looking around but need to do a little research first as I wouldn't have a clue what I am looking at. Looked in the buy sell today for a hairy mutt with killer potential, wouldn't mind a pitbull but have the kids. Six foot high fence goes in next fortnight. as for the cops, all they do now is revenue gather for yet another puppet government of the new world order.

Im a sales hunter, but for you guys and a few social nites closely sharing ghost stories, ill become a 4WD Thief hunter for sure.

I do know that on a serious note that if you talk to the right people and have the right info, sometimes you need to trade a little (can you smell it) and next you know you even know where their Grandma lives.

Ok i have insurance but enough is enough and i got my truck done last sunday morning also, interested in nothing but valuables, even left my credit card behind, but they took everything else, unfortunately all my tools, wide open to view for those of that opion as well.

Find the bastarts, teach em a lesson, and leave with your tools. Thats what i say!

Years ago when I got my shed ripped off .... both the cops and the insurance warned me the bastards might be back in a month or two when I've got all the shinny new stuff

Now the reason I'm saying this Al is there is enough interested (fucked off 8) ) people here to form a linch mob, and your gona have some nice new shinny bait..... , oh and to warn you as well

Heres a little story to lighten up the mood a bit ... this happened about a month after I got the insurance on my shed...

My workshop was under the front of our woolshed with a seperate short access track off the road with a couple of hedges between it and home, the only thing going for me was my bedroom faced it.
As you'll know this sort of thing ##### up your sleep, you start sleeping real lite and wake at any niose or lights, well I woke to a flash of light through the hedges after sitting up in bed stearing hard I seen another flash of light
That was it, I was outa bed and off, grabbing my cloths and boots I was in the Landy in seconds, I was gona catch the bastards There was no warm up, it was foot flat to the boards... in the short drive round there my mind set went from "catching the bastards" to "to pushing there car up against the shed" to "Hit the Bastard at Speed and Smash it out into the Paddicks, then deal to anyone still standing... "
Well I come into the yard the 5L V8 is screaming I've got the the 110 in a power slide fully sideways doing about 60k's when I see two very wide eyed rabbits frozen in shock.... its my elderly (late 70's) neibours standing next to there hyundi shopping trolly trying to change a flat tire, in a panic I spun the landy in, SAT's arn't designed for rally... I think I was very lucky not to roll it or hit them, I don't think they were too happy either
After that I gave up trying to catch the bastards

Al, Yeah I must agree some of the staff out there do not know alot, As for asking my boss, i did (although i should stop talking to myself) and then answered myself the same as earlier posted, Tell me what you want and I will put a sharp pencil into action. 5 star, imobilisers, glass break sensors the list goes on. As for the pit bull. We have a staff member at a local branch who I know is kept on a short leash! But I don't think she is for sale
I just wish we could have a society with honest people - they still do exist.
Had a guy walk into the shop yesterday with a wallet he had picked up in my carpark full of cash. Nothing missing he just wanted to hand it in. Even more amazing as my collegues call my branch bro town!!
If you want any alarm info, pricing, options email me.

The last story I heard was in the 80s when some local guys new it was a local gang in Shannon so they passed word that a house was going to be empty for the weekend then some guys hid in it. When the offenders drove up the drive a quick phone call bought reinforcements up behind to block them in then a bashing was dished out.
The problem was, as the papers reported, the same house was having driveby shotgun blasts through the windows after and the police were not impressed with the vigilante antics of the residents.

was theiving bastards, now insurance bastards

Post by albundy »

well you know the story thus far. Finally an assessor saw me today, processed the claim and duly pissed me off. Seems that for each year you own something you lose 10% in value.
Stereo=20%
Hilift=30%
Tyre deflators=10%
Compass=80%
Fire Ext=30%
+excess$300
for me= #### all
basically I get just enough to replace the stereo, or hilift. Left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. Out of curosity I asked what would they pay out for what I have modified, am going to modify, what I drive through and painted the worst case scenario :( Bastards said I'd only get about $5000 if they decided to pay me. Despite being told of mods in the past, and the legal definition of an NZ road they reckon I would be declined. Duly rang AMI and told them what I have got, my insurance history, what mods I am going to do including needing a cert, what shit I drive through. This guy knew his 4wd's as he asked questions only 4wdrivers know, even to the extent of what percentage of trips I do are grade 5. Told him I had a certificate from a poly tech to say OSH wise I was a competent 4wdriver and got full cover, anywhere, anytime, anyhow @$40 per month. I was stoked. He is now doing me a qoute for house etc, etc etc, which he said will bring the truck down. Now this is full cover anywhere, even in a river bed up to your nuts or in my case tits of freezing cold water. Go figure.
