Hey pal I dont know heaps about them but my flatmate drives the same truck with the 2.8turbo. Him and another couple of guys he knows have all had problems with the rear main seal needing replacing on them. Other than that his is a pretty damn good truck - i assume you got it for hunting? going by the username

We use our trucks for hunting i have a V6 surf and he takes the mu and its been given death but still only ever had that one problem

Hi there, i have the same truck, a ucs55, and have never hand any engine truble whatsoever. Just keep thenm regularly serviced and they will go for years!!
If you want more details about them then go to http://clubisuzu.proboards29.com

This is a world wide web site dedicated to isuzu enthusists and if you have a look around you should be able to find what you want, i'll have a look next time i'm there and post the details on here if you like.

There are heaps of mods that can be done to make these little beasts go far better too, butr thats another kettle of fish and i have to go to work it the morning!!

And just for a laugh I bought a bighorn today with the same motor... done about 320,000km I think from memory!

Not sure why I bought it... just kind of like them... now I have two toyotas and two Isuzus in the family... oh, and one little Hyundai :)

As mentioned - log in to Club Isuzus forum and have a search around there... there are heaps of things you can do to them, and they are reliable and economical...

Thanks guys , it is beasty little truck , me and my old man went on a small trek in a forest up taupo / national park ways and he was in his 2.8 surf and the MU was climbing clay hills and flying through mud that the surf wasnt so i was quite stoked 8) , as mentioned in a few posts about oil seals i think it has blown 1 beacause it leaks engine all down over the oil pan etc so it must be a seal some where . not a major though still a mean truck ! :D
