70 series MWB / 70 series Prado

Post by fweddy »

How compatible are these between each other?

Basically what I'm thinking is what mods would be able to be swapped over to a prado from a midi?

I understand the running gear is all different — diffs, suspension etc but what about the likes of front and rear chassis (bar fitting, etc). I figure PTO is a no go as different transfer case. So its not leaving much of the good stuff that is interchangeable.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

My prado has a big pin 70 transfer case, have put a pto winch on it. Had to split it to put the drive gear in. I think the bullbar will fit. I went all custom with mine.
Diffs are 8" so can't swap, but the hubs and stub axles will and is a good mod to get shot of the crap electric free wheeling hubs.
With Toyota alot will swap.
Good luck
