wrong link dude, thats for winch challenges

what you watched was a teams recovery event

the rules for this event could be found by sending a PM to pedro

similar events are held in the northern zone as well, but the rules are slightly different up there ( no winches allowed )

I could get ya the northern zone rules if ya like

I turned up a bit late on Saturday afternoon to find them waiting for an ambulance to turn up, somebody hurt their back?? Didn't go in as they were about finished.

Any ideas of what happened, hopefully nothing major!

sig wrote:was asked to enter a team for the valley teams recovery event but at the time wagon was in bits .ended up driving/winch bitching on the valley team with mark s,dwayno, julian, andy and gary.had a ball .sat did a few hazards then a hard landing in the gypsy saw one of the other teams members off to hospital with 3 compressed vertabrae.that was one team out.the team from queenstown had there winching down pretty slick .but we used long ropes and pulley blocks and clipped there time every hazard.ended up sleeping in the back of the 80 on sat night (after emptying my chilly bin)with the back down till it started raining/snowing then had to close it .ended up sleeping at an angle and didn,t enjoy it much.have slept in the snow before but for some reason this night seemed to be colder.sunday dawned rather cold(understatement)then the second day started in earnest.snow/sleet was a constant most of the day.had a good couple of hazards and continued to set good times .our last hazard of the day had us working pretty hard after dwayne and garys trucks completed the hazard mark had a go and got bogged pretty good on a rock ,ended up straigtenting one of dwaynes tow hooks and bent one of garys (2 tonnes will do that)finally got him out still with time to spare .an awesome event .will be back next year hopefully with my own team .thanks to pedro and the other organisers for several great feeds and MAN that heater ROCKS (an orchard heater that runs on waste oil.we need one for rallywoods) :D
