brake booster vacum/oil pump

Post by wildplumdx »

my alternator crapped out so as i was replacing it with a new one i noticed that the oil pump which is bolted to the alternator has a rubber vacuum pipe from the brake booster to the oil pump and it had collapsed on itself and i'm guessing wasnt working as it was flat as, ive fixed it but what does this vacuum pipe do with the oil pump ?

think you'll find it's a vacuum pump for the brake booster on the alternator not a oil pump. it's just lubed with oil from the engine
