Maxitrak Leaf Springs Issue

Post by GotFlex »

Hey guys
I notice that there is differnt part numbers for LH and RH for rear sping on my Mu,
are they set up with different heights?

i cant get it sitting level so should i order two LH packs? as its the drivers that is sagging most on standard springs?

Anyone know why they do this?

The standard hilux leaf springs have a left and right as one spring perch is higher and also on a hilux you have gas tank driver and transfer case all on one side .My lift kit came with a spacer to use to even them up
swb lux with 7mge, trailgear crossover, trailgear rear lift kit, custom front bar, runva 1200lb winch, custom snorkel, 37" Mtrs, custom deck, lockright in the rear.

Yea this is for a mu, and has even weight in the back except the driver,
i might go for two drivers packs side then??

Mu's have torsion bar's in the font eh??

You considered the problem could be one of them that needs adjusting??

I would get the proper set (lh + rh spring), its designed for the weight distribution of your truck as standard, so if like you say, it has even weight in the back, there is no reason why the there would be a problem with the correct springs.

Probably find you have slightly bent of damaged the spring on the side thats sitting low. a tiny amount of variation through damage can cause a noticable lean FME :D

have you got a LH and RH springs up front or are they both the same, as the front drivers side requires a heavier as well.

They were even number of leafs in the front as reece put a 10mm spacer on the passenger side is lower, but the truck had a mean lean to the drivers side, so ive added two extra leafs to jack it up, and have added 2 to the rear drivers sied pack, but its still sagging!!!

im interested in your solution. I am about to go rears in the front and have looked at it with the same question. The front springs come as different heights to suit the different height spring perchs but the rears are the same height so what happens when you put rears in the front? do you need to pack one of them up or does the truck sit on the piss? or will an even rear pull the front into line? questions, questions..

What is the overall height that you have lifted the Mu?.I would talk to the guys who make the springs and tell them that you have lifted the truck X amount and can they do a set of springs to suit what you have done and to match your shocks. I had EfS do a set for my zuk and they were spot on.

it needs to be 60mm higher in the rear to suit it mint.
so im hoping the 2" lift spring will do it, the maxitrack leafs are hell of a lot cheaper than efs!!! almost half the price,
and shackle the rest to level out, iv heard bad things about extremely long shackles rolling through corners,
Ill get the proper RH an LH packs and play with them iff nessecary.

Ill let ya know what it turns out like
