got rear of surf all finished, sleeping platform, with dry, clean, lined compartment for clothing when camping, plenty a storage behind the seats for cooker and all the other shit that i dont mind getting a little dirty, and ther rear area for all recovery gear and tools, the rear half is permanent, but the front half can be unscrewed and lifted out so 1 half of the rear seat can go back in...

Got new vp motor in today will get it all wired up tomorrow then i'm back in business 8) Might even start the wide axle swap tomorrow. :D .

Off topic, coming home from workshop in manukau on the motorway, guy speeds past me weaving through traffic that is going about 70km/h brakes and rear right wheel locks up and ends up facing me in my lane about 50m away  . Luckily he somehow managed to start driving towards me pulls a handbrake turns around and speeds off again. interesting end to the day

On my GQ:

Changed the supposedly 4" springs in the front for some actual 4" springs. Funny, it sits about an inch and a half lower. I was a bit suss on those springs when I bought them. At least it sits level now instead of nose high.

Took the ratty, kinked old cable off the PTO winch, and put on a brand new Warn high-mount cable. All 48 metres of it fitted on with room to spare.. 8)

Was going to take the rear swaybar release mechanism off to figure out how to extend it 4" so I can put the rear swaybar back on. Looks like I'm going to have to drop the belly tank to get it out. It can wait for another weekend.

On a mates GQ:

New brake rotors on the front. While it was all apart regreased the wheel bearings.

Tomorrow:

My missus has her first navigation event in a few weeks. :D I'm going to head out tomorrow and get a bunch of waypoints so she can go and find them next weekend for a bit of practice.

how'd it go? anything exciting?
flexed my truck up at johns wit my 36's on and everything looks good, flex is pretty av and the shocks are a bit short but it all works and no rubbing at this stage so it will do for the trip and then i can get a bit further into it when we are back.
