95 surf 4wd lever problem maybe

auto 95 surf
is it normal that i can only put it into Drive when the hi-lo lever is in HIGH when its out of 4wd?
if i leave the 4wd lever in nuetral, and try to select drive or reverse it grinds a hell of alot

what if the lever is in high? can you then select gears as usual?

im not sure about it grinding, but it is normal that it has to be in high when OUT of 4wd. If its in low it will automatically select 4wd (even without pushing the button) and it it was in neutral you would get no drive at all. What are you trying to achieve by having the transfer case in neutral?

ha ha achieve nothing , i just thought it should have been in nuetral when driving..but your absoutely right...thank you :D
