a gear box question

Post by HBpajero »

I have a 93 GNXE v6 Pajero with a 5 sp manual box. Since i bought it there is a stiffness when putting it into third gear. If you take your time it slips in smoothly , if you try to hurry the change it "sticks" as it goes in and you have to give it an extra 'push'. I've tried double clutching but doesn't make any difference. This happens going up and down the gears. Has anyone any ideas. My thoughts leaned towards a worn syncro in third maybe. Open to ideas.
cheers

Yes third gear syncro will be a bit tired. Try changing the gearbox oil, use VMX, also add some Pro ma MBL8, it works wonders with syncro's that are a bit tired.

I posted same question on the English Pajero site.http://www.pocuk.com/forums/index.php?s ... 5c52f97839 They suggested replacing gearbox oil with ATF oil. With the same result.

I suggest using Redline MT90. Its absolute MAGIC for worn manual boxes.
phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.
