Value of a LWB GQ

Post by turoa »

Hi,

Im currently looking to buy another vehicle and am looking at buying a LWB GQ. I really don't like the look of the hiroofs so they're out of the picture. I want a lwb so I can sleep in teh back of it etc. I don't want an auto.

So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I should be looking to pay for a lwb manual. Not really too concerned if its na or turb, but i suspect na will be much cheaper. Im looking for an interior which isn't thrashed, and want the vehicle on the whole to be in a good general condition.

So what kind of $$ should I be looking at, would it be cost effective to buy an auto and do a manual conversion, and what things and places should I be checking (rust etc).

Cheers

My friend just bought one, 4" lift, 35s, RB30 LPG for ~$5000.

I can't believe how much he payed for it but I guess people were scared away by the RB30 LPG deal but it went surprisingly well.

His is a 93? So they have the nice grey interior not the poo brown you get in most of them.

I imagine you would pay a couple of grand more for a diesel.

I really like the look of the low roofs, would've got one of those if I didn't get my 80 Series.

For a lowish km manual in good condition, expect to pay $7k plus. I've been looking for a low roof for weeks, but they are either auto, high km/rough, or just overpriced

Im a bit dissapointed they aren't selling for that much at the moment :(

Always wanted an 80, but unfortunately my budget wont stretch far enough to get a decent one

i was looking for 2 months everyday on tm and locally, i found nothing descent and i was prepared to pay a reasonable amount, like you i wanted low roof, manual and anything but green or brown, i ended up with a tidy high roof, autmatic and in green!!! but it certainly wasnt what i wanted as i think they are butt ugly, although it has been a godsend being able to pick stuff up for my house reno. people want big dollor for good ones which are few and far between. reluctant to say this but the toyota is a good option as there are more about...
