bought myself an engine and trans 8)

VN V6 & auto computor, loom etc all to go into a double cab 2wd ute of some sort....when i find one at a good price 8) probably an L200 as all those 2.6 motors have the timer pin pulled when they leave the factory

Have seen a V6 Comm conversion done in a Ford Courier and it was nice and tidy. When you get to that stage I can give you his number (he's a owner/operator workshop garage).
The obvious question, why 2wd :?:

the 4.2 donk in the 40 is indestructable and i like it that way

and i need a ute for doing my MX stuff and the 2wd's are lower for easier loading and cheaper to run than a 4wd ....and i rekon it will make a great skid machine

my 2wd ute idea has kinda taken a sideways step

now.. do i mate the 6pac up to the surf box and go that way or can i pop the Gbox off and mate the holden tranny to the tranfer case? i would rather keep it auto so i dont have to buy adapter kits etc....

and what body to drop on it all to turn into a ute???..... Hmmmmm

It's got "flippers" :? I can hear Steve Supralux warming up his 9" grinder from here! Is it going to be road legal? If not move the fuel tank and rear shock mounts for a start.

Surf chassis, looks like the body mounts are allready cut off, so you can put on whatever you like. Hilux single cab or similar would be easy. The world is your oyster.

I've got a lux donor out the back if you need mounts etc - help yourself, I've got all my stuff out of it.

yea want to build it as a road truck, and make it a ute as well.needs to seat 4 so need either a double cab body or thinking of doing a frankenstien on it, drop a commy s/w body on it... and a ute deck behind that  be funny as and ye athe mounts are allready gone so i can put anything on it
 maybe even find a surf body LN61 to drop back on and turn that into a ute... not sure yet, too many options. but i want it to be a road truck so need to up the gearing so it cruises nice at highway speeds, thats gonna be fun trying to do.and im on a budget so the less stuff i have to buy(adapter kits) the better.

nah mines the 2wd ute and its from dunnyvirke... hell long drive from hamilton and back in one day. its getting a VS commodore rear diff and very slightly tweaked (i still have to keep it economical as it will be a daily driver) VN 3.8v6 power plant to make it do good skids  , pity the diff is only a single spinner :( .. maybe look for an LSD to slip in it when i have some coins to throw at it.

Open Windows Movie Maker, import the clip then use teh save as wizard to make it an internet friendly one... thats all I did...

no-one wants a 500Mb video :)

Mine started as about 5Mb total, and came out 300kb... perfect :)

That enough nerdy talk for ya to get it done?

Steve

PS: Trucks looking a little too low... put a front axle in it quik-smart before the boy racer boys start calling you their friend!
