1kz te oil pressure relief valve

Post by tarmac- »

Anyone know the location of this on the engine, and if its accessable from the outside without taking the sump off.

Whats a good way to flush the engine out, im possibly thinking the engine is full of sludge as im getting low oil pressure.

If it's full of sludge, you'd be better taking the sump off anyway.

Have you tried checking the pressure with a gauge yet?

From memory the relief valve is externally accessible (I'd have to check on a motor at work to be sure).

Just had a look at the manual and the oil pump pressure relief valve is on the RH side under the alternator and above or behind the bottom coolant pipe, it is a plug with a sealing washer, a spring and a piston. The plug is on the side of the aluminium oil pump front housing. I don't think this will be your problem.

GOOD LUCK, IF IT WASN'T FOR BAD LUCK SOME PEOPLE WOULDN'T HAVE ANY,

FITZY.
