I think you will find people are still waiting for your Pic's of your custom manifolds and general info on your setup's etc
I personally wasnt asking for info and pic's but from the other posts of your's I gather thats why you are getting no replys anymore so maybe post or e-mail the pics or list more info on your kits then go from there.

It was never really about your work- people just jumped on you because of how you introduced yourself (talking about your own adds in 3rd person etc like you did)
Your stainless pipe work etc is far better than most of us could do

hey be round the 3500 400 mark al machined faces etc, havnt had one crack etc out of 17

Re: safari turboed truck pic/facts???
SS manifolds and 4x4 don't go together long term. You'll get far better results from heavy wall steam pipe but obviously a lot harder to tuned length turbo manifolds but can be done.
That isn't a coment on the quality of your work, just some long term experience.

hey couple questions,
the truck running the garret whats the A/R spec's??
what kinda boost you run?
and what is the highest EGT temps you stick to?
if you put your foot flat to the foor in say 3rd gear what rpm do you get say 10psi??
your work looks great aye keep it up

i have done a frw now an have found the hot cold doesnt affect them in anyway as diesels dont get hot enough to affect them enough, have tryed steam pipe an it can be done but is getting heavy when it is done so i stick ro the stainless
but cheers man i want iput thats why i have put it up here

hey
it depends i dont have a set turbo that i use as change most time to suit what people want, always use the garret gt series turbos have fit from a gt2871rs to a gt3582
normaly run round 15psi give or take
etg one i doe in weekend there is a hill out of nelson called spooners range? if you may know it a long medium climb gave it to it in 5th all the way an kept pulling up an over top an just got to 609C then backed off an instantly would start dropping back to round 340-420ish normal running
3rd gear flat depends on what turbo smaller ones round 1600rmp medium round 1850-1900rmp bigger gt32 gt35s etc between 2500-2900 but then they will pull hard alway to red line an keep going
in my old truck would rev round to 0 again a still be pulling at 18psi
all depends what you want etc
cheers hope was some help

My old truck had 2 psi at 1000rpm, had 14psi at 2000rpm and hit 21 at 2700rpm. The boost dropped back to 18psi at 4200 but in reality beyond 3500rpm was a waste of time due to it still running a standard fuel pump (with fuel wound up).
The turbo was a standard Safari T3 and Safari won't tell what the specifc A/R's are.
(sorry truck was auto so can't give the feedback you wanted)
We are running the same turbo system on a worked TD42 (ported head, cam, injectors, hybrid fuel pump, custom phlenum, I/C, etc) and that is running out of turbo at 26psi. It is running 550 egt's and that is after a long high speed climb in 5th gear!
If you are getting 600*c with 15psi then it is over fueling and wasting fuel for no real gain in power! 15psi is a conservative boost level for a TD42 and as such there is no real point in running egt's above 500 to 550*C.
550*C seems to be a sweet spot where you get really good performance without too (!) much overfueling and little impact on engine life.
If you are racing then anything up to 650*C is OK and at 700*C you have an engine life span that is measured in seconds not minutes. (like less than a minute and things start melting!)
As for hot and cold. Try going from full noise and then drive into a river etc and see how long your SS manifold lasts! Like I said, for off road SS manifolds don't last. For onroad as a tow wagon or never really getting dirty then SS is great and yes the EGT's are alot less than a petrol so it is all good.
My turboed VH45 has heavy steam pipe manifolds for the exact same reason.
I like Tuimans attitude where by it isn't a bolt on kit. There is a place for it but you also need understand the work envirnment. If I came along and you gave me a SS manifold, I'd be back pretty soon to get it fixed after driving into water when red hot.
I suggest you build both, one for onroad and then a specifc heavy duty offroad version. Then it is the customers choice.

hey
year i dont do a kit as everyone wants different things, on its only a perk job that i do anyway not a job just on the side in my own time normly do whol thing from wo to go in weekend
i have never used anything as small as a straight t3 on a safari, have on a 3.2 navara, t3/t4 is the smallest i have used so all are higher revs to spool up thats why i tend to use garret gt series ball bearing turbos
i do make both as options as i do agree with you the heavy steel pipe puts up with lot more, an the standard cast manifold is a heavy fat bitch anyway
i have make a couple of intake pleniums, 3 froun facing an 1 better flowing top mount style to.
an in the process of stroking an bring a 4.2 safari to a 5-5.8L ish?
year i know they die fast from 700c it is a big long hill thats why in got to what it did maybe 4k long climb?? an thrashed it all the way to see what it would get to
i started this to see interest an peoples different ideas, pros an cons etc

Re: safari turboed truck pic/facts???
Be interested in hearing more about the stroking project. No body seems to have put much effort into boring or stroking TD42's so good to see someone thinking outside the square.
One thing to think about is the EGT's on a TD42 normally peak low down thw rev range and not at 400rpm. I would suggest you check your at below 2000rpm to see what it does there.

will keep informed about the stroking an boring way going to make program an machine a new billet crank out of 4340 but is so much in it to get it right, i have herd no one do that just do turbo a pump maybe cams etc but never herd of a stroked one so thought it was time

have checked under 2000rpm in different gears under revs an under nt much revs just heavy load an got 6oo tops thrashing it up hill, but then back off gas an would instantly come back
Re: safari turboed truck pic/facts???
Im sure ive read somewhere that you cant bore them a hell of a lot because its really close to a water gallery. May not be correct though.

bugger all roon to bore them any way have removed liners an will make pistons to suit is the idea, as with the liners out there is bugger all between the bores, then the crank also, doing the calculatios to see what L it will be
Re: safari turboed truck pic/facts???
have heard of guys boring out to 4.5 litres but nothing more than that will be interesting to see how it goes...
im runing a tdo5 at the moment has good spool up, most i've had it up to is 26psi at about 3000rpm but the egt's r round the 620-650 so dont let it go that high very often....
need to get my injector pump recond so that mite be stuffn me up a bit but im pretty happy with it for now!!!
