SUSPENSION LIFT LN106 HILUX
Have saved up enough cash for a suspension lift. i want to clear 35s and have heard a few stories on how to do this but was first wonder how much higher i want my suspension lift to be. Ive been offer a 3 inch lift for a good rpice but am unsure if i will have to modify anything in the steering for it to cope with the lift. My ute already has a 2 inch body lift that i need to keep in mind alsso. Should i go for the 3 inch body lift or play it safe with 2 inch lift?

35s should clear as it is now in the rear, just not the front, maybe spend the cash on a high steer conv, that way you improve the trucks handling, you keep the truck low... more stable and clear the 35s

Iv got maxitrac springs with a 50mm lift in them under my ln65. Wacked on the 35s and took it for a quick skid and found they loved rubbing on the back of the front guards. So got some 75mm body lift blocks and chucked them under the cab but left out the factory mounts so i guess it was only a 50-55mm lift in then end. Now the 35s are chur!! In terms of steering, suspension lift didnt present any problems but with the body lift had to put a spacer in the shaft that goes from the firewall down to the p/s pump.

If you are going crossover steering I would go rears up front and match the lift at the back. This is not a cheap conversion as you need a longer spline front driveshaft and to strengthen the power steering box mounts have a new longer steering shaft made or a snake racing shaft extension. The benefit is the Ubolt flip in the front can be done to give better diff sliding.
Low and wide is more stable and remember the gearbox can be lifted with a body lift but that can make for bad driveshaft angles on the back.
Best thing is move the front diff forward the cheap way is to re-drill the spring perch on the diff you can even make a bigger perch or if brave (spring steel is hard) re-drill the spring.
