Just wondering if anyone has been up the old man range lately, planning a trip up there in a few weeks and thought i would see if anyone can give me any info.

came over a couple of weeks ago. 2wd.. going back over next couple of weeks. its good when i have sites to visit on the tops of hills.
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..

We went in from piano flat, was a relatively easy trek, just mind you dont get too much of that silica mud in the radiators as it bakes in good and proper......

Pick your entry points as some climbs are steep. One mudhole along the back circuit is now cleared of silt
(see my trip report on Central Trip). Track is getting easier as DOC keep filling every f**king in
Just be prepared for bad weather. We had a lot of cloud that day, couldn't see fifty feet at times at the Obliesk.

cool cheers for that was thinking of going in from piano flat then coming out down fruitlands way.

If coming from Piano Flat watch the first big bog hole. Coming that way it will pull you into the left and you will be stuck. That is if you take the main linbe, there is a small well developed sidetrack around it but still in the same bog hole.
