the on road performance isn't an issue as i got a spare set of rims with the wagen so i will have a set of A/Ts for on road and whatever else for off road
a soon as you loose those good leading edges ive found they lack big time and they are crap on clay comparring to my simexs ,thats what ive found with them and they were tsls,i cant see past simexs for mud........thousands of dollars later
Yes swampers are very good when new but I do concur that they do go "off" reasonably quickly when getting worn. 10mm tread doesn't sound like much left either? considering they start with well over 20 I imagine.
I've seen Mongrels first hand on a number of trucks, and yeah they're good performers especially bush work. Cheaper remouded copies of Simex and almost as good.
super swampers have the strongest sidewalls around but are also the worst tyre on the road. they are good for a truck with plenty of power but for your average club truck they are pretty much a waste of time, with 10mm they are very worn. they would have to be very cheap like $200 for 4 .
i would llook arouind and buy a set of 32-10.5x15 simex extreme trekkers they measure up 33.3 inches high which is higher than a 34inch swamper. look around on trade me . mongrels are as dear as simex . you may as well buy a simex. the other option is to buy a set of heavy duty chains you cant beat steel on clay.
thanks for the tips guys my little g wagon is only a 3 litre diesel at the moment so i think i will stay away from them it will be turbocharged soon though
i only have a couple of things planned for it at the moment first up is a turbo to be fitted which i got when i bought it and then tyres will see how things go from there maybe a lift in the future
