discontinued from toyota retail was $2800 looking for a second hand unit or part number for an after market one.

just in case anyone is interested in this in the future I found the following info:
"Aftermarket New 1Y / 2Y / 3Y / 4Y Starter Motor Small Type
To Suit Toyota 3Y engine as found in Liteace / Townace / Hiace / Hilux / Dyna
Bolt on replacement for 5MG / 6MG / 7MG / 7M-GTE"
So as above they are all the same part number I bought a new aftermarket one for $175 from japspares in auckland.
