1995 bighorn 4wd wont ingage.

Hi there i have a 1995 bighorn when i go to put it into low or high 4wd it does not ingage the front wheels,
When i first turn the key on the 4wd light comes up on the dash but when i start it and put it into 4wd the light does not come on can anyone tell me wot could be rong.

does any check lights come up?.

isnt the front vaccuum operated front diff?

if so could be a faulty solenoid, broken line etc?

does it make any clicking noises if you drive on? on my mu with manual hubs it wouldnt go onto 4wd, and i figures that all but 1 bolt from front driveshaft had come loose and fell off, and last one just broke - Which then hit the gearbox with some force and made a little hole in it.

Hi there thanks it was the vacum line on the front diff
