Pretty sure the blocks are the same. Although if you have a 16v or an 8v there are physical differences - engine / gearbox mounts are the same, computers, fuel pumps, throttle cables, exhaust, etc may not be. Is the donor the same fuel delivery too (carb or EFI)?
If you confirm both engines are TBI 8V G16A's Or both carbed 8v G16A (or both 16V G16A) then sweet, everything should be the same.
you will need to remove all the auto stuff from one (and the manual stuff from the other) and swap it all over.
91 and 94 Escudos will both be 16-Valve. Water and vacuum lines sometimes vary slightly, and the inlet manifolds should be very slightly different. For that reason I suggest retaining the original inlet manifold for the transplant, as well as checking the water manifold (some have an extra outlet!) Other than that, it's just a matter of swapping the flywheel and torque converter over and then lots of nut and bolt work.
