Canty trip next weekend
Canty trip next weekend
Been ages since the 4wd got a good coating of mud so is anyone keen for a play next weekend thinking of having a look at the selwyn should have some water in it this time.

What day are you thinking?
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Re: Canty trip this weekend
Given the weather we've had, and the forecast of the weather to come the Selwyn may have more water than you want/need in it.
From the Selwyn District Council bulletin issued 3 pm today.
The weather system which brought much of the heavy rain to Canterbury over the last couple of
days has finally started to move away, the rain showers, cold temperatures, and southerly winds
will however continue for the next couple of days.
Another low and front is expected to approach the Canterbury coast tonight and tomorrow, further
heavy rain is possible from mid morning Friday (28 May) until early Sunday morning (30 May).
The amount of rain and where this may fall is hard to predict with certainty at this time.
There have been no major incidents of flooding in the district. However surface water ponding will
remain in many parts of the District for some time yet.
The Selwyn river level continues to run high with peak flows nearing the lower reaches. It is
expected that this will pass without incident. Further rain in the catchment could see river levels
come up quickly, cautions should continue to be taken around rivers and stream.
Fords throughout the district remain closed until flood waters recede.

Ah no snorkleI'm out.
You can go back up the track. Don't have to go down the river bit and that meets back up with it anyway.
So whats the plan? Whos still keen? Meet at the bridge just off the highway at 10am?

Im sure the selwyn is still running a bit high.
Its even got water in it at SH1 ...it will be very soft due to the recent rain.
