Clarke River track(BP chasm)

Post by Shane »

Did the Clarke river track with a chch club on QBWE,was great to drive it at last, alot of fun thats for sure.we had 10 trucks so pretty much took all day 6 odd hrs.

Having seen many vids from when it was first opened,it has got a lot easyer, not that its easy just not as hard as it once was.

Cheers Shane

That's what we do, get two lanes going. We usually clear the bog lane beore the top lane anyways.
Also, when did the track name change or has it always been known as Clarke River track I always refer to it as the chasm track and bulletproof has his name on it as one of the first to conquer it.

The first time Malcom Higgins , Trevor Ward and my self got a through route to the staircase in the late 90s we called it the Clarke River trip.

When the washout happened no one went through for about 5 years so becuase of the washout I renamed it the Chasm track and nearly everyone uses that name.

I guess some from the old days still call it the Clarke river trip and others call it the staircase. But at the end of the day it doesn't really matter.

I have opened the track twice now and it won't happen again. Someone else can do the work next time and call it what they like.

Cheers Richard

I'm not to good at remembering track names,I think it depends on who you talk to,and what they know the track by.
I adjusted the subject title.

what ever you call it,its a great track look forward to going through again soon :D
