Help with Z20 Navara petrol rev problem

Got a Z20 petrol Navara, carby, done 108,000km. Today cleaned points, changed oil and filter. Now when you rev it briefly, it takes a few seconds to start dropping revs. Plenty of free play in accelerator cable, sprayed all linkages etc. It runs much nicer and smoother without low rpm miss now points are done, and idles beautifully. Just this "slow to drop revs" issue. Any ideas? cheers
