Light upgrade for Safari

Post by 3rnzir »

Just noticed the lamp cover has stone damage. Was wondering if it was worth upgrading to a gruntier bulb/loom/lamp setup?Say 90/130.Got rid of those big yellow fog lights ages ago. What sort of $ and brands would members recommend?

I think the standard loom had problems coping with higher wattage lamps and there is a risk of burning out your switch.

Hi.

Can you let me know what you end up doing regarding headlight upgrades... Am thinking about some sort of upgrade shortly - the standard lights leave a bit to be desired.....

I've just ordered a set of crystal headlamps from oz, and will be making a loom from the link above.

Dave,

Where in Oz did you find these lights?? How much?

Probably too late but maybe we could get a bit of a discount if i get some at the same time?

Cheers.

Just checked, and its $245aus for a complete kit incl. loom, globes, lamps, postage.

Might go for the lamps, and get a loom made from the above plans. Let me know if you are interested in a set.

Chris,
I was going to hold off until I head over to oz late next month for a holiday.
How soon were you wanting a set? If you don't mind waiting then I'll get you a set while I'm there.

Had the light inserts from DaveM + loom upgrade for about 3 weeks now.big improvement.90/100 globes.Perspex covers over new lights aswell.Very happy.Just had a new radiator put in the GQ yesterday.Installer said a new radiator is good for 1 recore only.Mostly.
