Don't know if you want something that would be accepted at comp's
Your pipe looks suspicously like galv plumpers pipe 8) but your foot looks to be all good way past spec (100 sq/cm of 3mm+ steel plate mounted to chassi)

An exo cage only really protects the body cause its hard to put cross braces in obviously. They serve their purpose well tho (they aren't really there to protect against multiple rolls they really come into their own on badly overgrown tracks)

I've had the bars on the old surf for nearly 4yrs now, tipped on the side heaps of times, crashed into banks and it's even collected a tree stump at full noise 2nd lo  and its still holding up well and it doesn't have bugger all bracing.

Keep it in nice & close Rik. What are you gonna do around the snorkle area? thats allways a pain :? Call me a rough hua if you like but I used remains of lux shackles for the stepped bolts to go thru the chassis, cause I had heaps lying around at the time.

Cool... I'm putting a bit of thought into how to do an exo cage on the Prado. The side bars & rear bar are there to mount off now. I need to protect the already dinged rear pillars & I'd like to incorporate a roofrack & have a bit of an 'expedition truck' look. I just have to work out how to integrate the double overhead snorkles & some lights & keep the height to a minimum as well...

Keep the pics coming, in fact any & all pics of exo cages would be good.

Cheers
