Project Zook

Post by suzukisport »

Well I have finally figured out to put pictures on here, so I thought I might as well start from scratch and work my way from the start of our trucks original build to how it stands today.
Our truck was originally a Suzuki Escudo 1990 that we had fitted the later model 2.0L V6 into it which went allright until we destroyed the front diff. We wanted more power and stronger running gear underneath it.

We sat the body onto the new chassis to work out where all the new mounts would be needed.

The motor was lifted onto the chassis then the body lifted over top to work out where the motor needed to sit.

Right then...
After Norwest WC we wanted to make the truck lighter and quicker. So we chopped it in half and went from there......

We build the truck with a 6 point body mounted roll cage. The cage had to be changed because of being chopped. The outside hoop and braces were mounted to the chassis. This meant we had to rubber mount the cage to stop it cracking the welds.

Rear hoop of the cage and the top of the tray bent into shape thanks to help from darinz :D

Now, this is where the truck is up to now.
Picked up a super charger kit on trade me a while back after the RWC 2010 and think its time to fit it. It came with everything needed including all the piping, intercooler, BOV, bigger injectors, chip for the computer, map sensor ect... The only problem is that our motor is not in a Commodore any more, so all the piping has to be changed to try and fit into the engine bay  So we need to make up all new gaskets and piping to suit.

New gasket to bolt to the side of the super charger
Image

Old one next to the new one that I made
Image

Its bolded in but need to adjust and alter the mounting brackets, also had to cut the side of the guard.

there was a man once who said something like, "If it smells like shit ,it probably is shit" ........so if it looks like a Zook?. I really don't like using "shit" & "zook" in the same sentence but you get my drift
