mitsubishi jeep, engine mods, pto winch

Hi guys my first post so be gentle lol, have a 1980 mitsi jeep ( built under license from jeep 1980 to 98 ) has a 4dr5 engine.
Its not done huge miles but its blowing a little smoke, and not the fastest unit in the block anything over 80km you can hear it.
I've heard its the same engine as in some canter trucks, and the r6 engine is turbo, Is it as simple as swapping the head and manifolds ?
or is the r6 engine a different beast ?
I noticed that there is a output for a pto winch off the engine, have seen one or two with one fitted, where would I look to find one, is it the same pto as on early mitsi pajeros ?

thanks had a quick look, but not sure if it's the model thats needed, needs a sharper brain than mine to work that out lol
