Haha. Yeah i definitely want to paint them black, on a tight budget though so dont know if they are high enough priority. And noo i love them bars 8) They are surprisingly strong aswel.

ha ha u may think spraypaint is the cheapass way of doing it but i have seen guys spend 300 to get a set of wheels sandblasted and powdercoated and the paint still strips off when your bogged in ashley stones spinning the wheels. As above if you use cans you can touch them up or repaint as often as you want.

Yup yup, that was my worry, sinking in the stone chipping away, yeah in 2 trips i ripped to valves off cos of this... But yeah i think i will paint em and just get a can for touching up.

Got some new 2" lift rear springs from BNT today, Hopefully get them in on sunday, reindex torsions and get wheel alignment on tuesday.

Also, as a 2.5" full through is out of the budget, i was thinking of doing a 2.5" downpipe with a flange welded on, so i could have the exhaust connected or not, Have it not connected for 4wd trips for more power, Exhaust shop fella said it can overspin the turbo due to no back pressure? Is that true?

And one other thing, How hot should my intake mani be after driving for quite awhile, mine is too hot to touch, i thought it shouldnt be that bad?

I used engine paint on my wheels, then heat gunned it a it. Only needs touching up now, 4 years later. so not bad, and its easy to do so too.

If you can be bothered and afford it put some tractor valves on rims re drill them further in the rim so they dont get hammered as much and just weld up factory valve holes. Deffinetly worth it have'nt ripped one off since doing this, 4wdbits.co.nz have them. And yes you need your exaughst for some back pressure. Id say intake manifold temp is normal, Bigger intercooler?

1 good and 1 bad thing came out of today, Got my 2" spring and torsion lift done, all looks good 8)

Bad thing is i found that the bar that goes accross bottom of engine that joins to tie rods and idlers is buggered, so getting new one from BnT tomorrow i hope.

Haha hate to say it but if you do even moderate offroading, you will wreck the new one again in about 2-3 trips. Its the weak point of the Terranos for sure!

Show us some pics of your lift though!

Having a look under my truck today, and noticed my torsion adjuster is all bent, after reindexing the arms sat a little lower than the x-member, and one side is bent and only just holding on..... im hoping that if i loosen it right off ill beable to bend it back with some force? and i guess ill need to reindex so the hide up in the x-member.

So much cooler than Surfs 8) 8) 8) 8)

Be wary of the Airflow snorkel if thats coming up on your list of things to do, I fitted one and it wasn't a good fit from the inner gaurd to the air box.

The exterior plastic bit was fine though.

Go 2.5" stainless pipe and black silicone bends

I've got some Terrano bits if you want them, I have a set of those little factory flare things and home made sump and transmission guard.

Cheers Simon mine looks exactly like your bottom one, you think ill beable to bend it back, and the index them into xmember? Is there a thread some where about the draglink?

Diesel Boy - Yes I really love the look of terranos, and engines are much more reliable than 2.4 surfs, lot more power to, I coulda got a surf if i wanted, but really prefer terranos.

I ended up getting a snorkel from autobend, 3", cut the holes tonight and got gaurd back on, now just gotta find something to mount it to the pillar. Bought snorkel head off a mate for $30. so all set.
Only part i need atm(probly change often as i break stuff :?) is the passenger torsion adjuster as simon pictured, unless i can fix mine.

Cheers

Got snorkel mounted on, looks good 8) Just gotta figure out how im gonna hook it up to air box, gotta small amount of room and 3-2" reducing.
Noticed today that the draglink is seriously hitting the chassis now, starting to leave gouges. Im thinking its the Idler that is bent? only slightly, its hard to tell. To get a new one, Should i just get one from BnT or go to cockram nissan??

Also got boost gauge hooked up and mounted, Just needing to find somewhere to hook the light into.
Will try get photos up, atm my camera is buggered though...

Been trying to figure best way to join snorkel onto airbox. 2 options are get a 2-3inch silicone pipe or cut original 2" inlet pipe off and weld a 3" bit of metal, Which would be the easiest to connect, as ther is bugger all room for messing around with silicone pipes. Can the intake box be welded to? its bloody thin metal, dont want to just burn holes in it.

That would also help as terrano airbox dont have as much airflow as they need.

I did this mod to mine and made a huge difference!
