Easy really, either:

1. Switch back the the tyre size it is certified for, or

2. Get it re cert'd for the bigger tyres.

You have to get it re cert'd with the bigger tyres as they will want to check speedo reads correctly and the truck can still stop safely.

how does he know its not certed for tyres? i have never seen a cert plate that has tyre size only ever say rim size and width. If your rims are the same width as the cert plate i don't see how you can be turned down for a wof.

I didnt think the cert tags had tyre size on them i thought it was just the rim size?
My cert tags dont have the tyres on them.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

It's not on the tags, it'll be in the system though exactly what is certed. So my cert man told me after i pointed it out on mine.

As Gimmemud (and others) mentioned - they dont put the tyre size on the cert plate (just wheel size) but the tyre size is entered online into the system so when you go for a WOF they can check to see you are running the correct size.

What size rubber are you running now? If within 5% rolling diameter you can still get WOF.

Ive got 35x12.5x15s they where on the hilux when i went for the cert i spoke to the guy who done it and he assures me he didnt have to put it on there nor the rim size and wont do anything, He just said if your so concerned about it pay to get another cert, Even tho i have showed him off the Lvv site where it says he had to, Very annoying.

Went in for another cert today and asked about this. They have to put what size tyres are on the vehicle at the time of cert. The tyre size doesn't get put on anyone's cert plate, only in the system, but the rim size IS on the cert plate. Tell your wof man to measure the middle of the wheel to wheel arch as this measurement is also on your cert plate, kinda hard to argue against that
Then tell your certifier he's an absolute cock
Seriously though, ring another cert man and tell him what has happened and if that doesn't get you anywhere ring the lvvta and get them to sort it out.
The cert guy that did mine today seems like a pretty good dude and knows his stuff because he actually builds hot rods and other cars when he's not certifying. His name is Lance Walsh, have a chat with him and see what he says.
