If seats are on the original seat bases they don't need cert (same mount holes etc )

Welcome Tristan,
I have seen that jeep around Albany.
As Suzookyman says, if the seats are a straight fit then no cert is needed.
A full hard top shouldn't be too hard to find.
Save a search on Trade Me and see what comes up.
Are you in a 4x4 club?
It is a good way of getting to know the places to go off-roading and can be a source of good deals on parts and spares.

Hi Tristan,

So do the bucket seats have there own running tracks to slide backwards and forwards on ??

If not, then can you fit the bucket seats to the old running tracks which will obviously fit into the factory holes ??

Have you been out to Woodhill forest for a play yet ??

Cheers

Hi Tristan,

Nice truck you got there, you should get a decent set of mud tyres for your truck, you will find that you will go through place that you cannot with the AT's.

You should try Woodhill, that would be a great place for your truck.

Tristan,
You can upload the photo to photobucket.com, resize it to 640x480, and then just put the link to the photo between the two img tags - [img]here[/img]
(They are near the top when you are writing a post  :D)

That way you can put the photo directly into your post

Pop down to your local engineering shop and get a couple of 5-6mm plate strips. You can mount your new seats to the strip and the strip to mounting rails in the correct location.

I have done this to my Discovery and it has come out mint, will get into the garage and take a pic........just incase what I wrote didn't make any sense

Hi Tristan

When I replaced my OE seats in an old Pajero I had with some new bucket seats, I went in to get a cert for a few mods I had done. The certifier said that as long as I used the original seat rails I did not need to get them certified, but he did them for me so it made the whole lot of mods I did legal. If you change the rails for ones that will fit, you WILL need to get the cert asap.

Here's some of the pics that I have done to my Disco, I had given it a WOF through VTNZ and it passed no problems with the seats the way they are.

Excuse the dirt, the camera adds 10 pounds of dirt for sure   Doesn't look this dirty in the day time.....damn flash

My experience with seats and belts is that you only need to get belt mounts certed.

My soarer seats had the buckles mounted to them so I had to get new belt mounts certed installed on the tunnel. No issues with seat frames at all.
