I know of quite a few in Lexus powered jetboats. What most have done is drill a hole in the side of a click clack lunch box put a gromet in it and run the wireing through that. The link lives in the click clak mounted wherever you can mount it. Takes a bit of room but I have seen one full of water (sinking they tried 4wd over a rock into a pool of water)
Alternativley get it as high up as possible behind the glovebox and if the water is gettng up there turn the car off. I have seen one wet (fresh water) that when left open to dry (4 hours in the sun) was all OK but the power was off when it got wet.
Who tuned and wired the link? Oh and what link? link plus? or just std link? or fuel only? and wireing diagram
Just in case anyone else here wants to try. Who tuned it? Damb too many questions.
